Your Donation is Helping to Grow the Sport

As Canada prepares to host the FIFA World Cup 26TM, we have a once-in-a-generation building opportunity to create a unified and aspirational foundation for soccer in our country. Your contribution to CanadaRED is an investment in the future of Canadian soccer and our opportunity to elevate the quality and profile of soccer in Canada. Contributions are invested into three critical priority areas:

ACCESSIBILITY FOR
YOUTH SOCCER

Ensuring Canadian youth can participate in soccer by providing financial assistance and community-driven initiatives that reduce barriers to entry.

Why This Matters
Creating meaningful access to soccer starts with meeting youth where they are. Through initiatives like Soccer in Schools, we bring the game directly into classrooms and playgrounds, helping kids discover soccer without cost or travel barriers. We’re also supporting clubs across the country to offer financial assistance for promising young players aged 9 to 15, ensuring more kids can stay in the game and continue developing. Together, these efforts are building a stronger, more inclusive foundation for soccer in Canada — one where every child has the chance to play, grow, and thrive.

CANADIAN COACHING
EXCELLENCE

Improve the development of Canadian coaches through support, training and experience opportunities.

Why This Matters
We want to see Canadian head coaches leading our National Teams on the world stage, and to do this, we must invest now in developing our coaches at all levels of the game. Programs like AccelerateHER are already driving change, with a 220% increase in women participating in advanced coach education. By expanding access to training, mentorship, and hands-on experience, we’re helping more Canadian coaches — especially women and those from underrepresented communities — rise through the ranks and lead at every level of the game.

ENHANCED NATIONAL
TEAM SUPPORT

Enhance our National Team system – from youth to senior teams – with world-class training resources and competitive opportunities.

Why This Matters
We’re building a stronger National Team system by investing in our players earlier — from U15 to senior squads. With more consistent funding, we can increase high-performance camps, give players more international experience, and ensure every age group gets the preparation they need. The goal: four camps per year, per age group — so our athletes are ready to compete, perform, and succeed on the world stage.

Soccer is Canada’s most popular youth sport, with over 1 million children participating, yet the barriers to play and to compete at the highest level have never been higher.

It costs an average of $40,000 per year in non-wage resources to support just one national team player, covering training, travel, and development needs. Families face annual costs of $800–$1,500 for competitive youth soccer, and in some cases, as much as $10,000 – putting the game out of reach for many. And over the past decade, participation among youth aged 6–12 has dropped by 8%, due to rising costs, a shortage of qualified coaches, and competition from other sports & activities.

It takes an average of $40k in non-wage operational support resources to fund one national team player each year.

Soccer is the most popular youth sport in Canada. 16% of Canadian youth aged 3-17 participate in organized soccer.

On average, competitive youth soccer costs $800 – $1,500 annually, and as high as $10,000 in some cases.

Participation rates among youth 6-12 have declined by 8% over the past decade. Decline attributed to increasing costs, lack of qualified coaches, and competition from other sports / activities.

Your generosity will directly impact the lives of athletes, coaches, and communities across the country, ensuring that soccer in Canada continues to grow and thrive.

“The quality of the national team infrastructure has improved a lot since I began my career with Canada. To take the next step, we have to invest even more in our youth system and the support around our senior teams to be on a level playing field with the countries we are seeking to compete with.”

“My coaches were critical to my development and success as a player. For Canada to be its best, we need more Canadian coaches to be trained at the highest level, be provided with sufficient resources, and obtain global experiences they can bring to Canadian players.”

“To cultivate passion and talent in soccer, it is crucial that financial constraints are not a barrier to participation. By investing in accessible opportunities, we support aspiring athletes, regardless of their economic background, to develop their skills and reach their full potential. Every investment in financial aid is an investment in the future of soccer.”
